What is the Kanyashree Prakalpa Scheme?

- Unmarried girls aged 13-17 enrolled in Class VIII-XII at a government-recognised school in West Bengal, from families with annual income up to ₹1,20,000; must have a bank account in her own name.

- An annual scholarship of ₹1,000 (K1) while studying, plus a one-time grant of ₹25,000 (K2) at age 18 if still unmarried; additional fee discounts on select technical/vocational admissions.
- Required documents
- Birth certificate, school enrolment proof, family income certificate, bank account passbook in the girl's own name.

- Download the application form from wbkanyashree.gov.in and submit it to the school headmaster/principal, who forwards it for verification and approval.
