What This Tool Measures — and What It Doesn’t
This tool fetches only the raw HTML document at the URL you enter and reports its size, along with whether the server compressed it (gzip/brotli, via the Content-Encoding header). It does not measure total page weight — a real browser loading this page would also download its images, CSS, JavaScript, fonts, and any other linked resources, none of which this tool fetches or counts. For a full page-weight audit, use a browser’s own developer tools (Network tab) on the live page instead.
FAQ
Does this include images, CSS, and JavaScript?
No — only the raw HTML document itself. It does not fetch or measure any linked resources.
Why does it matter if the page is compressed?
Gzip or Brotli compression can shrink an HTML document’s transfer size by 60-80% typically — a page with no compression enabled is slower to load than it needs to be.
Do you store the URLs I check?
No — we do not log or store the URLs you check with this tool.
