How This Lookup Works
This tool first resolves your typed city name to coordinates using Open-Meteo’s geocoding API, then fetches current conditions for those coordinates from Open-Meteo’s forecast API — both free, direct browser-to-API calls. If more than one place shares a city name, the first (usually largest/best) match is used; for an ambiguous name, try adding a country or region (e.g. “Springfield, Illinois”).
FAQ
How current is the data?
Open-Meteo’s current-conditions data typically updates hourly from weather models and observation networks — this is a live snapshot, not a forecast prediction.
Why can’t it find my city?
Very small towns may not be in the geocoding database — try the nearest larger city or add your state/country to the search.
