How These Counts Work
Character count (with spaces) is the exact length of the text you entered, including every space and line break. Character count (no spaces) removes all whitespace before counting. Word, sentence and paragraph counts use the same logic as the Word Counter.

Does this count emoji or special characters correctly?
It counts UTF-16 code units, the same way JavaScript’s native string length works — most emoji and special characters count correctly, though some complex multi-part emoji may count as more than one character, matching how most platforms’ own character limits are actually enforced.
