Eligibility & Benefits

Eligibility
Students studying in government, government-aided, or local-body schools who score at least 55% in Class 7 (5% relaxation for SC/ST students) and whose annual family income does not exceed ₹3,50,000; students of Kendriya Vidyalayas and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas are not eligible. Selection is through a state-conducted NMMS examination.
Benefits
₹12,000 per year (approximately ₹1,000 per month), awarded from Class 9 through Class 12 to selected students, subject to continued eligibility.
Required documents
Income certificate, caste certificate (where applicable), school enrolment proof, Aadhaar-linked bank account for Direct Benefit Transfer.

How to Apply

Application process
Appear for the state-conducted NMMS selection examination (registration is typically via the respective State Council of Educational Research and Training), then apply for/renew the scholarship through the National Scholarship Portal.
