The Delhi Ladli Scheme links financial support for a girl child to her staying in school through senior secondary level. The sanctioned amount is invested on her behalf and paid out as a maturity amount once she completes Class 10 (or is admitted to Class 12), which she can use for higher education or vocational training.
What is Delhi Ladli Scheme?
The Delhi Ladli Scheme was launched to promote the birth of girl children, improve sex ratio, and ensure educational development for girls. Under this scheme, financial deposits are made directly in the name of the girl child as term deposits through SBILIFE (State Bank of India Life Insurance Company) and matured amount is disbursed upon reaching 18 years of age.
