What is the PM Vishwakarma Scheme?

PM Vishwakarma provides end-to-end holistic support to traditional artisans and craftspeople working with their hands and tools. The scheme aims to strengthen and nurture the guru-shishya parampara (traditional family-based practice), preserve cultural heritage, and integrate traditional artisans into mainstream value chains.

Eligibility & Benefits

Eligibility
Artisans/craftspeople aged 18 or above at registration, working in one of the 18 listed traditional trades on a self-employed or unorganised-sector basis, who have not availed a similar central/state credit scheme for self-employment in the past 5 years. Government employees and their families are not eligible.
Benefits
Basic skill training (5–7 days) with a training stipend of ₹500/day, a ₹15,000 toolkit incentive, and a collateral-free enterprise development loan of up to ₹1 lakh in the first tranche, repayable within 18 months.
Required documents
Aadhaar card, trade-related proof of work, bank account details.

How to Apply

Application process
Register through the official PM Vishwakarma portal or the nearest Common Service Centre; registration and verification are done in stages before training and loan disbursal.
