How This Calculation Works
The Pythagorean theorem states that in a right triangle, the square of the hypotenuse equals the sum of the squares of the other two sides: a² + b² = c². This calculator solves for c given a and b. This first version solves specifically for the hypotenuse — solving for a missing leg given the hypotenuse and one other side may be added as a separate mode in the future.
