How This Tool Works
X reads a page’s twitter:* meta tags to build its share-card preview, falling back to the equivalent og:* Open Graph tag when a twitter:*-specific one is missing (e.g. twitter:image falls back to og:image) — this tool mirrors that same fallback behavior, fetching the page’s HTML from our server and showing you the preview card X would build.
FAQ
Do I need separate twitter:* tags if I already have og:* tags?
Not strictly — X falls back to Open Graph tags when Twitter-specific ones are missing, which is why this tool shows you which source each field actually came from. Adding twitter:card explicitly is still worth doing to control the card format (e.g. “summary_large_image”).
What does twitter:card control?
It selects the card layout — commonly “summary” (small square image) or “summary_large_image” (full-width image). Without it set, X falls back to a default.
Do you store the URLs I check?
No — we do not log or store the URLs you check with this tool.
