Paste a coordinate below — in decimal format (like “28.6139, 77.2090”) or degrees-minutes-seconds (like “28°36’50″N 77°12’32″E”) — to check whether it’s valid and see it on a map. Everything is checked locally in your browser.

How This Tool Works
Real-world coordinates come in messier shapes than a clean pair of numbers — copied from a GPS device, a spreadsheet, or a document, sometimes with compass letters (N/S/E/W), sometimes without. This tool recognizes both decimal and DMS formats, uses any N/S/E/W letters present to work out which number is latitude and which is longitude, and checks the result falls within valid Earth coordinates (latitude −90 to 90, longitude −180 to 180) before showing it on a map.
FAQ
What formats are accepted?
Plain decimal pairs (“28.6139, 77.2090”), decimal with compass letters (“28.6139N 77.2090E”), and degrees-minutes-seconds with compass letters (“28°36’50″N 77°12’32″E”).
How does it know which number is latitude?
If compass letters (N/S/E/W) are present, those determine it regardless of order. Without them, the tool assumes the standard “latitude, longitude” order used throughout this site and most mapping tools.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. The check happens entirely in your browser — nothing you enter here is sent to our server.
