Enter the coordinates of two points to find the slope, the line equation, and the distance between them. Everything runs in your browser — nothing you enter here is uploaded, stored, or logged.

How This Calculation Works
Slope measures how steep a line is: it’s the change in y divided by the change in x between your two points (rise over run). When both points share the same x-coordinate, the line is vertical and has no defined slope — the calculator states this explicitly instead of showing an error like “divide by zero.” The line equation (y = mx + b form) and the straight-line distance between the two points are also shown.
FAQ
What does a negative slope mean?
A negative slope means the line goes downward as you move from left to right.
Why is the slope “undefined” for some points?
When both points have the same x-coordinate, the line between them is perfectly vertical, and slope (rise ÷ run) is undefined because “run” would be zero.
